Getting Chas’s new Hed wheels and Conti tires glued up for RHC Barcelona.
This project would have been a little more exciting if I was gluing Cross XGs rather than Corsa Evos
Another wave of tubular jobs coming through the shop. Time to re-up my stock of Mastik.
I can’t quite pin point it, but there’s something about gluing tubulars that makes it one of my favorite jobs to do. Maybe because it gets you totally high. Maybe it’s just knowing that being a skilled tubular gluer makes you a pretty damn legit bike mechanic.
Whatever the reason it is, I always get stoked when a customer comes in with a set of 303s and a fresh pair of Corsa Evos that need some gluing up. It even makes me excited to talk to a triathlete. THAT TELLS YOU SOMETHING!
Cross season is just around the corner and I’m sure you’ve all had your Challenge Grifos sitting around stretching for the last few weeks (I know I have at least!) If you want them glued up for a good price, come see me, I’ll hook you up.
Despite being fully immersed in mountain bike season, I’ve still be working hard at getting things lined up for the upcoming cyclocross season. That hard work paid off today when I received a big ol’ box of product from the mail man today!
I recently worked out a deal with Velocity and they’re gonna be keeping me rolling through the mud this season! Some delightfully wide 23mm Major Tom tubular rims for racing and their clincher brother A23 rims for training along with some of their brand new race hubs. I’ve had my eye on these since last year and I’m super excited to be riding them!
Can’t wait to lace these things up, glue on some tires, and get em’ dirty. I can hear the cow bells ringing already! Big huge thanks to MD at Velocity USA for helping me out! Now who wants to help me out with a tubular sponsorship?
